What are wet and dry risers?
These types of systems are typically installed in high-rise buildings to help the fire brigade in a fire emergency. The biggest difference between the 2 of these systems is in the name, wet risers and full of water whereas dry risers are not. A dry riser is often used in scenarios where there is a risk of pipework freezing. When the fire brigade arrives at the property, they can connect their hoses to the dry riser which then allows them to pump water to the floor where the fire has broken out.
