Fire Action

Stop fire from spreading and extinguish it quickly

The most important procedure when a fire occurs in your building is to make sure that all occupants escape as quickly as possible. Should it be safe to combat the fire yourself, a fire extinguisher can help prevent further damage and stop the fire from spreading.

What are the classes of fire extinguishers?

Fire extinguishers are broken down into 6 different categories. The materials that are present in your building will determine what type of fire extinguisher you need.

  • Class A – Fires involving organic materials (paper and coal)
  • Class B – Fires involving flammable liquids (petrol, diesel and paint)
  • Class C – Fires involving flammable gases (butane and methane)
  • Class D – Fires involving flammable metals
  • Class E – Fires involving electrical equipment
  • Class F – Fires involving cooking oils

Our team will carry out a number of inspections and tests that will include:

  • Making sure there is no damage to the extinguisher
  • There are no leaks
  • Check the gauge pressure
