Wet & Dry Riser Systems
Wet and dry risers are installed in high-rise properties to help the fire brigade when they attend an emergency. The difference lies in the fact that wet risers are constantly full of water, and dry risers are not. Dry risers are commonly used where there is a risk of pipework freezing, a situation that could hamper a wet riser. When on scene, the fire brigade can connect their hoses to the dry riser, which then allows them to pump water to the floor where the fire is located.
Whether wet or dry, these risers are used around the world because of their reliability and effectiveness in fighting fires above ground in high-rise properties. Fire Action will maintain any wet or dry riser in your property, ensuring the fire brigade can access it quickly and easily if they need to. We’ll also carry out a pressure test and visual inspection every 6 months to maintain the integrity of the system.
